Issue 12: The Aftermath of Raw: Road to the Royal Rumble
Hey all! Another Thoughts coming at 'ya. This issue deals with where the WWF will go from a great Raw into the Royal Rumble.
Many new angles were created on Raw this week. The first that sticks in my mind is the Undertaker's new angle. Personally I saw this coming, after the Ministry of Darkness was first established when Taker went back to Paul Bearer. The Acolytes and Dennis Knight make a great destructive force for The Undertaker, and finally his true potential as the greatest evil in all of wrestling will be realized.
You also gotta believe that Chyna is dropping a lame Mark Henry angle to become a Corporate killer, which is great for her and DX and should add more fuel to an already burning hot DX/Corporate feud. Also with Kane seemingly out of the Corporation, and The Rock not in Vinnie Mac's good books, we shall see what will go down in the coming weeks. And of course, the Man Called Gillberg, 'nuff said. That is just too damn funny.
A few semi-interesting angles also developed, with D-Lo Brown being PMS' slave-boy, and an upcoming feud with Al Snow and Goldust over Head. Something else that has been overlooked is a possible Brood/DX feud. The bloodbath for Roaddog escalates into something more next week, but I won't say anything.
So, where does this leave us for the Royal Rumble? My predictions for the matches are as follows:
Mankind (c) vs. The Rock for the WWF championship (not predicted, already happening) Mankind wins, he's being filmed as the champ for the Super Bowl.
Ken Shamrock (c) vs. Billy Gunn for the Intercontinental Title (not predicted)Billy Gunn wins, Shammy's had elbow surgery and needs time off.
Sable (c) vs. Luna for the WWF Women's Title (same deal) Luna's got the belt to spark a feud.
Royal Rumble Match:My prediction is something I heard from a reporter that I'd like to see. Austin wins the Rumble as the Blue Blazer, since the Blazer, Jeff Jarrett, and Owen Hart are all in the Rumble, and JJ and Owen have dropped the Blazer costume. So Austin gets eliminated early and comes back as the Blazer and stays in until it's just him and McMahon, then he loses the mask and kicks tail.
Jeff Jarrett/Owen Hart (c) vs. someone. JJ and Owen should win before the Rumble, since Shamrock is already defending his IC belt. If not, they'll have a match just so Debra can be on TV, and they'll win soon after.
Goldust vs. Al Snow for Head. Goldust has already decorated it, he might as well keep it.
Gillberg should lose again to someone.
The Ministry should have a match or interfere in one.
D-Lo Brown vs. Mark Henry
Couple others involving The Brood, Job Squad, Val Venis/Godfather, 'Bangers & Oddities (ugh) and maybe other stuff.
Phew! That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Unless something tells me otherwise in the next two weeks on Raw, those are my predictions. Write em down, hold me to em, threaten me, whatever. That's just my opinion and I could be wrong. Sorry, just saw Dennis Miller. Hee-hee.
Rest in Peace,
The Endbringer
